Problems and Taking Action

"Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life" (Philippians 4:6-7 MSG).

After affirming this Bible verse, I realize it's better to pray and get busy solving problems than to worry and fret about problems. The former is positive and constructive, while the latter is negative and destructive.

Problems seem to be inevitable. Everywhere problems seem to be. Problems can be found on a global, national, communal, and individual level. Given this, problems probably serve a purpose.

I think the purpose of problems is to strengthen your problem-solving skills. Problem-solving skills consists thinking positive (e.g., praying, affirming, envisioning) and taking action (e.g., physically solving problems).

Some people downplay the importance of thinking positive, and claim that the only thing that matters is taking action. But where do you think taking action comes from? That's right. Taking action comes from thinking. You think first. Then you take action.

What you think is important. Thoughts have power. Thinking positive leads to positive action (e.g., physically solving problems). And thinking negative leads to negative action (e.g., helplessly curling up in a ball).

God and Problems

Today I am affirming, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5).

I understand that I do not have all life's answers and insights. That I am a limited human being, with a limited understanding of problems and their solutions.

Given this, I trust in God's guidance, since He has a complete understanding of all problems and their solutions. God has all the answers.

Whenever I have problems, I thank God for guiding me and solving my problems. I know that the real solution to problems is to develop enough faith that God is empowering me to solve my problems. Faith gives me the confidence to solve problems.

I am no longer overwhelmed by problems. Instead, I feel completely confident in solving them.

The Weight of my Problems

Today I am affirming, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).

Upon affirming this, I feel a heavy burden being lifted off my mind. All my problems do not seem so big anymore. In fact, my problems seem small and manageable.

Instead of carrying the weight of my problems on my shoulders, I am now sharing the weight with God. The weight seems weightless. My problems are like helium-filled balloons.

I now know that the secret of handling problems is to share the weight of the problems with God. I am a worry-free problem solver.

Adversity Motivates

The purpose of adversity is to motivate you to do better. If you are going through adversity right now, stop, listen, figure out what it means, then do the right thing.

Get motivated.

If you are having money problems, then you must learn more about how to make and manage money. If you are having relationship problems, then you must learn how to become a better friend, parent, or lover. If you are having problems at work, you must learn how to become a better employee.

Get motivated.

Stop blaming others for your problems. Use adversity as fuel to do your best.
